Alumni Update: Customer Identity Leader LoginRadius Announces $17M Series A Funding from ForgePoint and Microsoft’s Venture Fund, M12

In March of 2015, Rakesh Soni shared a blog post "How Edmonton's startup ecosystem helped us dramatically grow LoginRadius." He shared the progress of the company and how they interacted with so many of the supporters, organizations, and events our city has to offer as they began their journey to build a tech product. They have come a long way since working on their business idea from a mining camp site room 120km north of Fort McMurray!

Today, LoginRadius announced a $17M in Series A funding from ForgePoint and Microsoft’s Venture Fund, M12. This new injection of funds will be used to accelerate product innovation, customer acquisition, and global expansion.

Since its launch in 2012, LoginRadius has relentlessly focused on customer identity and has experienced triple-digit annual growth for the past two years.

Here at Startup Edmonton, we had the pleasure of working with LoginRadius in their very early days! In 2012, they connected with our co-founders Ken & Cam and shortly after that moved into our home in the Mercer Warehouse and participated in DemoCamp 19.

Mack Male has a great historical record of demos from the past ten years and summed up their debut as "It’s a suite of products that help businesses integrate “social infrastructure” such as login, analytics, and sharing. The idea is that LoginRadius is easier to integrate than all of the various social networking APIs, so you as the developer only have to learn one thing. I was happy to hear it was built with .NET and runs on Azure!"

Hot on the heels of DemoCamp, LoginRadius was part of Launch Party 3 alongside other Edmonton success stories like Jobber, Showbie, Granify, and Poppy Barley - all companies with growing customer bases around the world.

While at Startup Edmonton, they made their first hire, Chris Fletcher. Chris has gone on to start his own ventures and is a DemoCamp, Preflight, and Launch Party alumni in his own right!

Now headquartered in Vancouver, with offices in USA and India and plans to expand to the UK and Australia, the team at LoginRadius are always complimentary of the community in Edmonton and are quick to make referrals on how new founders can make the most of the resources here as they turn their ideas into reality.

Congratulations to LoginRadius on today's exciting announcement and we can't wait to see what your next stage of growth brings.
