At Startup Edmonton, we connect entrepreneurs and product builders with skills, community, and space to support them as they take ideas to reality. We create collisions - between developers, designers, makers, founders, and mentors - transforming ideas into companies.  Startup Edmonton is 14,000 square feet of program, community and co-working space at the historic Mercer Warehouse and has been operational since Spring 2012.  We encourage everyone to find problems to solve. Our members use technology to solve complex problems and we provide tools, or methodologies, to help them progress in building a company.  The Startup Edmonton team is excited about building the startup community and helping entrepreneurs find success. We are looking for a passionate program manager that would be responsible for leading and growing the Startup Edmonton program offerings. The successful candidate will lead a suite of programs and will report to and partner with the CEO of Startup Edmonton.

Scope of Work

This is a two-year term, salaried position with benefits and has the following scope of work.

Organize Programs

  • Plan the delivery of the program and its activities
  • Pursue opportunities for growth and expansion of programs
  • Coordinate the schedule and delivery of programs
  • Recruit and screen program applicants
  • Continually evaluate the program and assess its strengths and areas for improvement
  • Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget

Execute & Lead Programs

  • Deliver various Startup Edmonton program curriculum (3 hours per week for 5 weeks) in a manner that is professional and meets desired learning objectives.
  • Meet with members about progress in their business and direct them to additional mentorship and resource opportunities
  • Maintain up to date details in CRM
  • Report regular progress and metrics

Customer/Stakeholder Network

  • Build collaborative relationship with community stakeholders and mentors

Skills & Experience

  • Eager to shape the skills and trajectories of the newest generations of startup founders
  • Passion for entrepreneurial community
  • Love working with people
  • Experience in classroom/workshop setting
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well within a team environment to collaborate for solutions
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to managed and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience working with startups and entrepreneurs
  • Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well within a team environment to collaborate for solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite and CRMs
  • 5 – 7 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience will be considered
