Jobber - Product Designer

Does solving complex usability problems touching millions of people worldwide excite you?

Then you should consider joining Jobber! We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our Product Development team and turn sketchbook ideas into an impactful user experience. There will be a lot of unknowns and complex challenges in the coming years, so if you’re a person who thrives in an environment that moves at warp speed and likes solving problems, we want to hear from you!

The Job:

Our designers play a critical role at Jobber. They turn ideas into new features – and ones that our customers will operate with ease. You’ll report to the Design Lead and will become integrated with one of our product teams (we currently have 5 of them). This role will be located at Jobber HQ – a historic building in the heart of downtown Edmonton, Alberta.

The Product Designer will…

  • Be part of a product scrum team, striving to deliver new and improve existing functionality across our product ecosystem.

  • Spearhead the solving of complex usability issues facing small businesses.

  • Deliver artifacts like wireframes, prototypes (interactive and static) in order to communicate a vision to your team and your stakeholders.

  • Aid in the development of product vision, and have a holistic view of where you believe Jobber is heading in the future.

  • Strive to understand your users through qualitative and quantitative research as well as in-person and remote user testing.

  • Insure your team is delivering a consistent, thoughtful and thorough user experience with all of the work they release.

  • Bridge the gap between ideation, prototyping, and front-end development as you translate ideas into static coded interfaces.

In order to be successful, you will need…

  • 3-5 years of experience as a designer as part of a team, preferably in a Saas business.

  • To bring a critical mind to problem solving and are a master of the tools needed for your craft (we use Sketch, Framer, InVision, pencil and paper and a few others).

  • To be passionate about your work. We’re passionate about a lot of things at Jobber. Our customers, the people we work with and our product.

  • To be curious. You bring creative ways of working and solving problems to the table and stay on top of what is happening in the industry.

  • To be a self-starter. We don’t want someone who just follows instructions. We believe in autonomy and trust at Jobber.

  • To be a leader. As the primary design expert within a product team, you’ll need to communicate effectively and ensure your voice and your team’s vision is heard and understood.

  • To be a powerful communicator. Design is all about communication, next-level communication skills, including written, verbal, and visual are a must.

  • To be relentless. You see the positive side of failure, and do things you might not be good at but aren’t afraid to try.

What you can expect from us...

  • Extended health benefits package, fully paid premiums.

  • Three weeks paid vacation.

  • Competitive salary.

  • An inclusive environment that believes in bettering and supporting its people.

  • A unique opportunity to build, grow and develop a team within a high-growth environment.
