Job Posting: Front Desk Concierge

We're looking for a Front Desk Concierge to join the Startup Edmonton team! 

The Front Desk Concierge serves as a primary point of contact online and onsite for all members and guests within Startup Edmonton. The role is split between two, part-time positions to accomodate Startup Edmonton program, community and event needs. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greeting/Point of Contact
  • Be the first & last point of contact for members and guests
  • Cover the front desk during business hours 
  • Greet & check-in member guests 
  • Greet people who come for tours, track walk-ins, schedule tours & send confirmation emails 
  • Prepare and distribute promotional materials to guests / potential members
  • Answer walk-up member and guest questions or refer inquirer to additional resources

Membership Management

  • Work on community initiatives designed to develop connections between members, including member introductions, event support, email and print communications
  • Be active in the Startup Edmonton member network
  • Solve member-related issues to ensure a cohesive community

Onsite Operations

  • Prepare spaces for hosting of events & programs
  • Prepare and reset conference rooms 
  • Collect and distribute daily mail 
  • Prepare and restock kitchens and restrooms
  • Load and unload dishwasher, prepare & organize refrigerators 
  • Prepare and reset common area furniture & equipment 
  • Prepare and maintain printing stations 
  • Attend service related emergencies
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures relating to performance of tasks / or use of supplies
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs in insure quality control 


  • High school diploma or equivalent job experience 
  • Ability to communicate in English 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience working with startups and entrepreneurs 
  • Experience in customer service, sales, or project management a plus


  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills 
  • Ability to identify needs of customer and create / drive solutions 
  • Proficient in basic computer skills 
  • Passion for entrepreneurial community 
  • Loves working with people
