In this week’s Facebook Live, Tiffany Linke-Boyko shares three tips on how you can shake up your leadership style before the end of the year. Her best piece of advice is to treat the last 60 days of 2018 the same way you would the first 60 days of 2019. There is no need to wait until the new year to take on a challenge, learn a skill, or find something to optimize to make your work more efficient.
While Tiffany was in New Orleans for the Ecosystem Summit at Collision, she was invited to speak on the panel Ecosystem Development Strategies for Small and Mid-Sized Cities. Joined by Stanfield Gray, the CEO and Founder of Dig South, and Matt Wolfe, the Brand and Marketing Director for Greater New Orleans inc, the panel talks ecosystem building strategies, tips, and tools for small and mid-sized cities.
In just a few weeks, a busload of members (from students to founders) will take off for a weekend of skiing at Kicking Horse. Lauren, our resident ski expert and Community Manager, does a tonne of work in her free time coordinating all of the extra details that make a trip like this special.
You might be asking yourself "how on earth does a ski weekend in the mountains remotely support tech entrepreneurship and innovation?" Fair point, it might seem that some of the extras seem unnecessary - the coffee sessions, socials, Summer BBQs, t-shirts for toddlers or onesies for new babies, Christmas parties and pizza (so much pizza). These activities are vital for our startup community to thrive and grow. It's so much more than just bringing people together for networking.
