August Update | Making the Most of Summer πŸ‰πŸΊπŸŒ·πŸ¦

This past weekend many of our members and team are on the hill at Folk Fest and taking in the celebrations at the Cariwest Festival. Edmonton in the summer is a fantastic example of all the kinds of communities that rally together to build, create, and grow together. We're excited to continue on the festival excitement as we plan for Edmonton Startup Week and Launch Party 10 in October.

Catch up on some of the ways you can make the most of your summer at Startup Edmonton!

Do you have a passion for entrepreneurship and seeing companies grow in Edmonton? Are you interested in being part of diversifying the Edmonton economy?

The Startup Edmonton Community Coordinator will be the first point of contact for individuals looking to engage with Startup Edmonton and the broader tech/innovation community. This role will be passionate about connecting entrepreneurs with supports that best suit their tech-enabled companies' needs. This resourceful individual will actively reach out to the community to build awareness about Startup Edmonton, share what’s happening in the Edmonton tech community and identify access to supports.

At Startup Edmonton we connect entrepreneurs and product builders with skills, community and space to support them as they take ideas to reality. We create collisions – between developers, designers, makers, founders and mentors – and deliver programs that transform ideas into companies.  Startup Edmonton is 14,000 square feet of program, community and co-working space at the historic Mercer Warehouse.

We are looking for a passionate individual who is enthusiastic about building the startup community and helping entrepreneurs find success.

February Update

February Update

The first weeks of 2018 started with a bang! Lots of new faces joining us for coworking, an action-packed DemoCamp with creative projects from the recent HackED student hackathon, and our first session of Preflight is already complete.

My recommendations this month:

  • Check out what Amir and Brea have to say about our Preflight program & apply for our next session starting on March 1st.
    • Preflight is an annual membership that comes with ongoing mentorship opportunities outside of learning sessions.
  • Sign up for a Business Model 101 session. Steph is offering a special weekend edition on March 3rd for those of you with packed evenings!
  • Apply for DemoCamp! Our most enduring community event is turning 40, and we're on the hunt for great projects & products to share.
