Tens of thousands of people use Jobber to deliver over $2-billion a year in services to happy customers. Jobber exists to help make these small businesses successful, and that's exactly what we're doing!

We are looking for a Director of Business Operations (BizOps) to join our high-growth organization and lead the continued development of the BizOps strategy, vision and integration with company-wide process and business priorities. This role can be located at the Jobber headquarters in Edmonton, Alberta or our growing office in the OneEleven District in Toronto, Ontario. The majority of the BizOps team is in Edmonton, so if the successful person is located in Toronto, regular travel to Edmonton is an expectation. 

What is BizOps?

Think of BizOps as an internal consulting team. BizOps is a decision-support mechanism that connects data, business insights and an internal tech stack (systems) with the rest of the organization. BizOps helps align the business by providing visibility into how data and metrics create focus, drive strategic direction and create simplicity within operational models. In essence, BizOps is a central function that exists to drive business outcomes in all corners of Jobbers ecosystem. 

The Director of BizOps will...

  • Define and own the BizOps strategy from top to bottom. You’ve established strategies for newly forming teams and can harness the experience required to lead the development of a cohesive near-term and long-term strategy. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team to integrate this strategy with the organization.  

  • Coach and develop the BizOps team. Above all else, you’re a transparent and engaging leader. You’ll implement strategies and tactics to help the team grasp complicated and often ambiguous challenges and projects. 

  • Establish the BizOps team as group of trusted advisors. The success of BizOps is rooted in successful relationships. You’ll provide the team with a consultative framework that supports strong relationships with all Jobber departments. 

  • Think strategically and tactically. You have the ability to think about Jobber at 10x & 100x growth, but you’re not afraid to get in the weeds to support your team (which can be often). You will clearly communicate priorities and remove roadblocks to ensure execution of the BizOps strategy. 

  • Establish process around project management and prioritization. You bring mastery project management, change management and communication skills to the organization. When it comes to working within the agile methodology, you’ll drive high performance and accountability. You will encourage the team to learn and grow from previous experiences and encourage open feedback and dialogue. 

  • Be passionate about business intelligence. Familiarity with Saas metrics, KPIs and general business practices is imperative. You support and encourage the team to think big about business insights and the importance of identifying and simplifying key operational gaps. You will drive an ethic of doing what it takes to understand the Jobber recipe for success.

It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you had...

  • Previous experience with SaaS business; 

  • 7 years of leadership experience; 

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Amplitude, Zendesk, Autopilot, Google Analytics or similar tools in an organizational tech stack;

  • A degree in analytics, computer science, computer engineering or a related field; 

  • Project management certifications; and

  • Experience launching/developing new departments in high-growth organizations.
