Like the idea of supporting company-wide decisions and operations?
Then you should consider joining Jobber! We’re looking for a Software Developer to join our Business Operations (BizOps) team. Everything we do is in pursuit of better supporting small businesses, and each other, in our journey to power the world of mobile services. We are building a humble and supportive company that really gives a shit, and we’re having a blast doing it. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
The BizOps team is a centralized hub of expertise that is responsible for driving the data culture, optimizing internal systems and tools and gaining insights with complex business challenges. The Software Developer will work closely with Analysts and Data Engineers to ensure that all roadblocks or obstacles to effective business operations are removed and proactively addressed. We’re looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years experience, but that can be flexible based on what you bring to the table. This role will be located at Jobber Headquarters - a historic building in the heart of downtown Edmonton.
To be coachable and adaptable. This is a new role which means lots of trial and error. The best opportunities are the ones you can learn from...which we guarantee you’ll do with us if you’re open to it!
To be a strong collaborator. As part of a centralized team, you’ll be supporting projects and decisions that impact company-wide operations. Seeking advice, asking questions and ensuring you “understand the problem” is second nature to you.
Good business sense. We need you to think big picture about how systems and data impact Jobber’s day-to-day. Most of what you do will likely impact another team or a process, so it’s best to be methodical in your approach.
Effective decision-making skills. You will help tackle complex and interesting company-wide challenges and an ability to set direction based on the situation at hand is critical.
To be a self-starter. We don’t want someone who just follows instructions. You must have the ability to think innovatively and challenge the organization to think differently.
A focus on quality. At Jobber, mistakes are a part of learning and growing as a team. However, mistakes due to complacency tend not to sit well here. You’re the kind of person who takes pride in your work and focuses on the right way, not the easy way.
Strong programming skills preferably in Python or R.
It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you have...
Experience with PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Redshift or Redis.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs (Salesforce certification is a huge plus).
Experience with customer support tools (like Zendesk) and marketing automation (like Autopilot or MailChimp).
A degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field.
What you can expect from us...
Extended health benefits package, fully paid premiums.
Three weeks paid vacation.
An inclusive environment that believes in bettering and supporting its people.
Your very own, brand new Apple computer.
