Jobber - Senior Software Developer - BizOps

Like the idea of supporting company-wide decisions?

Then you should consider joining Jobber! We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our BizOps team at our headquarters in Edmonton, AB, in an historic building along Jasper Avenue, or at our growing office in TorontoON, which is located in the King-West area. As one of Canada’s most dynamic start-ups, there are always new challenges and exciting projects on the go. So if you’re a person who thrives in an environment that moves at warp speed and likes supporting and empowering people to do their best work, we want to hear from you!

The Job:

BizOps (Business Operations) is our internal consulting team - they’re the decision support mechanism that connects data, business insights and an internal tech stack (systems) with the rest of the organization. In essence, BizOps is a central function that exists to drive business outcomes in all corners of Jobber’s ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of BizOps, the Senior Software Developer will work closely with our Analysts and Data Engineers to ensure that all roadblocks or obstacles to effective business operations are removed and proactively addressed. We’re looking for people who are ready for their next challenge, and want to use their experience to influence people, processes and decisions.

As a Senior Software Developer on the BizOps Team, you will…

  • Build the foundation of our growth. Leveraging a wide range of technologies and languages, you’ll help ensure our tools, processes, and data are connected and flowing.

  • Set up our internal teams for success. Support new and experimental processes throughout our ecosystem to bring best-in-class business practices to our customer facing teams. Help them get the most out of Salesforce, Zendesk and other tools by building, extending and automating integrations.

  • Have a passion for data! Work with our Data Engineers to develop our data warehouse and overall data infrastructure. Help ensure that our product, website, ads, apps and all the pieces in between are gathering the data we need. Our insights are limited by our data, and you are needed to get the right data to the right place at the right times.

  • Participate in strategic planning. Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to figure out the best solution to some of our most pressing challenges. Represent the strengths/weaknesses, costs and timeframes of the various options.

  • Be collaborative. You will support multiple departments in their projects and decisions, which means you'll get to think big picture about how systems and data are interconnected and can impact Jobber’s day-to-day.

In order to be successful, you will need...

  • 5+ years software development experience, ideally in a SaaS environment.

  • Experience with Integrations, APIs and working within their limitations.

  • Experience working with technologies like Ruby on Rails, Javascript, get the idea.

  • Strong communication skills, able to breakdown and explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • To collaborate with both non-technical and technical team members.

  • To be a champion of Jobber’s culture and core values - humble, supportive, and give a sh*t.

It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you have...

  • A degree in software engineering, computer science or a related field.

  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs (Salesforce certification is a huge plus).

  • Experience with customer support tools (like Zendesk) and marketing automation (like Autopilot or MailChimp).

What you can expect from us...

  • Extended health benefits package, fully paid premiums.

  • Three weeks paid vacation.

  • Competitive salary.

  • An inclusive environment that believes in bettering and supporting its people.

  • A unique opportunity to build, grow and develop a team within a high-growth environment.
